In this course, we provide an overview of dementia and expand our discussion to include specific types of dementia. We will review the different symptoms, testing, diagnosis, and treatment. There are several case studies presented to assist students with those difficult decisions at end of life and the codes of conduct for CDMS, CRC, and Case Management are reviewed in relation to those difficult ethical dilemmas. This course is ETHICS PRE-APPROVED for CCM, CRC, CDMS, CVRP (2), MSCC, and CLCP. The CCMC Code of Professional Conduct will be referenced in this presentation.

Ethics in a Multicultural Context is a practical text and resource book intended to help mental health practitioners and trainees develop ethical decision-making skills which reflect cultural responsiveness. The main focus is ethical decision-making in an applied counseling context.

This course will discuss marijuana and medical marijuana from the Canadian perspective. We will present the history of marijuana in Canada. The second part of the course explains the new law in Canada making marijuana legal for recreational uses and its effects on the patients who now have medical cards for marijuana. We will touch on the ethical issues that legalized marijuana presents for healthcare professionals.
